The purpose of WAC
The general aims of The Wheatley Area Churches have been, since its inception on 3rd July 1974, is to promote a better understanding of the different denominations in Wheatley, Holton and surrounding villages and for members of the congregations to meet from time to time for joint services, bible study and discussion on related topics of common interest, especially during Lent.
Over more recent years, the churches have been working ever more closely together and supporting each other at special events. In 2023 a Memorandum of Understanding was agreed by the WAC committee (consisting of representatives from all of the churches) and approved by the individual churches and this seeks to express how the relationships between the churches currently work and to guide the future growth of those relationships.
